Hermes-Android

What Is It

Hermes-Android brings the Hermes WebUI experience to Android without turning it into a second product. It keeps Hermes WebUI as the real application surface and adds the Android capabilities that matter on a phone or tablet: a hardened WebView, trusted navigation, native sharing, uploads and downloads, notifications, secure local settings, update delivery, and recovery paths when the mobile runtime gets in the way.

In short: if Hermes WebUI is the product, Hermes-Android is the native shell that makes it feel at home on Android.

Key Features

Feature What it does
Hardened WebView A locked-down WebView tuned for the Hermes WebUI surface
Trusted navigation Only trusted destinations, no accidental navigation drift
Native sharing Share content into and out of Hermes from Android’s share sheet
Uploads & downloads Native file handling for chat attachments and generated files
Notifications Push-style alerts for agent activity and cron job completions
Secure local settings Sensitive configuration stored in Android’s secure storage
Update delivery Built-in path for app updates
Recovery paths Graceful handling when the mobile runtime interferes

It works with a running Hermes WebUI instance, and it’s optimized for both phone and tablet layouts — split-pane chat on tablets, immersive chat on phones.

Why It Matters for Hermes Users

Hermes Agent is designed to be reached from anywhere — 10+ messaging platforms, a web UI, and now a native Android surface. If your agent runs on a server and you want a first-class mobile experience (rather than a cramped browser tab), Hermes-Android is the native path: your workspace, notifications, and files, on the device that’s always in your pocket.
