What Is It

Hermes Agent Orange Book (橙皮书) is a complete hands-on guide to Hermes Agent, written by HuaShu (花叔). It’s part of the author’s Orange Book series of technical guides — practical, example-driven books that take you from zero to productive.

The 2.0 edition is a from-scratch rewrite: the first edition was based on Hermes v0.7.0, but two months and nine releases later the product had grown a new face — a native desktop app, a full browser dashboard, and 23 messaging platforms — so the book was rebuilt around Hermes v0.16.0 (“The Surface Release”).

What It Covers

The 2.0 edition restructured the material from 17 chapters / 5 parts into 21 sections / 6 parts, rebuilt around the current product surface. It’s a practical, hands-on path through the framework: installation, the desktop app, the dashboard, messaging platforms, memory, skills, automation, and building real workflows.
